Registration has been open for just 10 days and
over 100 athletes have already registered for the
25th Annual RPM

Athletes are taking notice - and registering fast!

We were of the belief that the Silver Anniversary of the RPM was going to be something to get revved up over - apparently our athletes are in agreement.

I want to thank everyone who has made this early commitment to being part of this year's event. Early registration helps us better prepare for race day - and it's only 191 days away!

Registration for the 25th Annual RPM is Now Open
- Let's Rev-It-Up for the Silver Anniversary

Those of us who were around 25 years ago to see the start of our racing tradition would have been hard pressed to predict the way the RPM has been embraced by our community and the generations of athletes who have tested themselves by taking on the Pineapple Man.

So, as we prepare for the 2010 iteration of our race, it is with great pride that we announce that REGISTRATION IS OPEN.

It is our full intention to celebrate our first quarter of a century of racing with a blow out even. We are excited about this serious milestone and we are revving up our plans. It should be a race to remember.

Register today - this is the year you don't want to miss.

24th R.M.P. - Unbelievable, simply unbelievable!!!!

The 24TH Rotary Pineapple Man™ Triathlon was a huge success. All of us who put on the race are too tired to really reflect on the event, but here are some of the highlights:

  • 568 registrations - sold out
  • First time having a participant that is completely blind … he and his competing partner finished in the middle of the field.
  • First time to use platform boarding steps for the water exit.
  • First time to have a local sports news editor do the awards presentation … she competed in the event as the swimmer for a relay team and they place.
  • First time to have full radio communications from end to end provided  by RELM BK Radio.

Everyone had so much fun. We were able to make it happen thanks to the many people who volunteered and contributed as sponsors. They have helped this event arrive at a new high.

Early Packet Pickup, Please

It would be a great help to the race if we could have a large number of race participants come in on the day before the race and pick up their race packets. Come by on Saturday, May 30th between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM to avoid the Sunday morning race day line!

We will have a record number of athletes this year; lets try to take a little stress out of the big day by picking up race packets early.
